H-U, you know! Bishop's African American Studies class visited Howard University ( ), which ties into their current reading assignment. The goal was to enrich students' understanding of historical and cultural context while gaining a deeper appreciation of the role historically black universities play in addressing issues raised in the book.

We love when our alums come back to visit! This weekend, alums from five different decades, attended our private alumni event: Turnout on the Terrace at Homecoming. It was so fun catching up with everyone and sharing stories!

Chemistry students in Meredith's classes practiced significant figures and precision by converting heavy cream into butter! Students explored two different methods for determining the density of butter. In one method, they used the area of a stick of butter to determine its density. In the other approach, students made their own butter and determined its density using water displacement. In both parts of the experiment, students practiced recording the precision of the instrument and reporting answers in terms of significant figures.

Hey Falcons! Check out the game lineup for Homecoming on October 14. Make sure to show up with your family and friends to support our athletes and check out some of the fun activities happening on campus!

Upper school students in Jake's Geometry classes used part of Field's campus to apply what they are learning in class! Students headed out to the Terrace last week, to review coordinate planes and coordinate points and to learn about finding midpoints and using the distance formula. Students paired up, then each stood on a giant coordinate plane and discussed how they could find the midpoint between each other and how they could find the distance between each other. Back in the classroom, they learned the terminology and equations that built on the connections they made on their giant coordinate plane.

Itās Friday and weāre excited to highlight another faculty member. Say hola or bonjour to the incredibly talented Karen Tavenner Acosta!
