Attention Washingtonians: UDC-CAUSES is now accepting applications for our FREE Culinary Arts Summer Camp program - Open to DC youth. If your student or child is interested in cooking, culinary arts, and delicious foods, this camp is for them. Students will learn culinary arts skills while creating unique dishes from various cultural cuisines. CAUSES' Chef Holden, the Center for Diet, Nutrition, and Health (CNDH), will teach campers techniques needed to follow recipes, prep food, use kitchen equipment safely and hygienically, and cook their favorite dishes. Campers will also learn about health and food nutrition along the way!

On April 20th, UDC East Capitol Urban Farm celebrates Earth Day. We aim to take care of our planet, and CAUSES is the college dedicated to supporting these sustainable initiatives. UDC-CAUSES partners with KonsiderDis, a non-profit organization dedicated to environmental consciousness, and Rocketship Public Schools for an enriching Earth Day Celebration at the picturesque East Capitol Urban Farm. The free, family-friendly, and open-to-the-public event will have sustainability workshops, urban farming demonstrations, and engaging discussions on climate action. From composting essential foods to renewable energy solutions, attendees will explore innovative ways to nurture our planet and build a greener future.
