Celebrating Catherine Lee ‘92 as she concludes 15 years of service on Middlebury College’s Board of Trustees.
Catherine’s career began in investment banking in London and New York before taking her across Norway, Sweden, Japan, and South Korea, where she built a global career in shipping and logistics. That international perspective and strategic leadership enriched her service as a Middlebury trustee.
For fifteen years, Catherine brought her judgment, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the Board of Trustees — often traveling from overseas to attend meetings. Her dedication to the College was evident not only in the boardroom, but in every aspect of her engagement with Middlebury.
She has taught numerous J-Term courses, bringing real-world experience into the classroom. She welcomed Middlebury students into her home more times than anyone could count. She opened doors for students by connecting them with meaningful career opportunities, and she served as an advisor to the men’s soccer team.
A DC native, Catherine has been a wonderful friend to Middlebury in DC, generously sharing her time, wisdom, and local perspective with our community.
Fifteen years of board service is a remarkable commitment. Catherine matched that commitment with extraordinary generosity toward students, faculty, staff and alumni alike, leaving a lasting mark on Middlebury in ways both visible and behind the scenes.
Thank you, Cathy, for your exceptional service to your alma mater. Your leadership, generosity, and steadfast dedication have strengthened this community in countless ways.
