Transcend provides accessible, high-quality test preparation and college admissions coaching for diverse students from around the world. We work with students one-on-one online and in classroom settings to maximize their chances to reach their best universities. Our unique curriculum provides a wraparound college admissions package, including support for standardized test preparation, essay evaluations, recommendation letters, resumes, college matching, financial aid review, and much more.

Founder Tina Tran Neville began her education career in the District of Columbia. Tina taught at the National Cathedral School and Washington Latin Public Charter School and witnessed the need for higher quality test prep services. Tina's mission was to create content that served students, whether community-college or Harvard University bound. Since 2010, her company has placed students at Harvard University and community colleges - fulfilling the goal of helping students get into their best universities!
Tina, a first-generation immigrant, entered the field of education after serving overseas as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer. She received degrees at the University of Tulsa and Yale University.
Our People
Transcend Academy recruits high-achieving, diverse advisors. Our staff all possess college degrees from schools such as Harvard University, Yale University, and George Washington University. Furthermore, Transcend Academy requires education experience to join our team. Every single advisor on our team has significant teaching experience and a proven track record of student improvement. We know that working with students requires a level of experience to make for effective teaching. Beyond mastering the content of the standardized tests and college admissions process, the diversity of Transcend’s advisers provides the cultural context to understand and develop rapport with our student to help them achieve their college dreams.
Our Results
Transcend Academy track attendances, homework, and practice exam scores to achieve results. We have seen significant score improvements over the last several years with our classroom lessons. At Washington Latin Public Charter School, scores improved for ninety-one percent (91%) of the junior class. The average score increase was 76 points, with some students up to 290 points. This was done in three weeks. At Coolidge High School, scores improved for seventy-six (76%) of the junior class. The average score increase was 90 points. We also saw significant score improvements at Thurgood Marshall Academy, IDEA Public Charter School, BASIS DC, and Sandy Spring Friends School. We believe in building long-lasting relationships and strong foundations to enable students to get into their best university. 85% of our students get into one of their top 3 universities!
