Students met their buddies today!

In our buddy program at Sheridan, each child is paired with a student in another grade to play and grow together. Older students serve as mentors, and younger students are able to look up to and learn from their older buddies. We love watching our students build community together!🦉

Our fall 2026 Mountain Campus season is well underway and our 7th and 8th Grade expedition trips last week were a great success! Students had an exciting three days full of taking risks, cheering each other on, and making connections across grades. They spent time paddling, rappelling, cooking, riding horses, making art, riding mountain bikes, chopping wood, and more! 🌳🚴‍♂️🛶🧑‍🍳💙

Last week, 4th Grade took their learning beyond the classroom during their annual sailing field trip on the Potomac River! ⛵️🐟

Students investigated the river’s ecosystem and wildlife, learned about the geography and history of the Potomac River, and practiced map-reading and navigation skills. This hands-on experience provides students with an authentic opportunity to make interdisciplinary connections and spend time outdoors!

What an exciting and beautiful day. 💙🦉

On Friday, our 1st Grade students brought their learning full circle! They worked together to make fresh salsa with tomatoes from the Mountain Campus garden which they helped with back in the spring.

This was a wonderful way to connect their experiences at Mountain Campus with their learning back at City Campus. What fun and what a tasty way to learn! 🍅🍽️🪴

Happy Friday! 🎉 This morning we held our annual Opening Assembly for students and families where our faculty and staff put on this fantastic musical performance!

At Sheridan, we encourage our students to take risks and try new things. Our faculty and staff model that same courage by getting on stage, taking a risk, and showing our community what it means to be brave.

Here’s to a wonderful year of being courageous together! 🦉
