Thai American Sister School Program

Thai American Sister School Program • The American-Thai Sister School Program is a goodwill program initiated to foster global citizenship and learning between Thai and U.S. students.

students in Grades 4-5 and Grades 6-8 by using interactive social media as well as cultural and educational activities to build a human bridge between Elementary and Middle Schools in Thailand and the United States.

• As the world becomes more interconnected through technological advancements, we find it imperative to broaden the horizons of children and young adults so as to cultivate a generati

on of future citizens well equipped with an enhanced awareness of the diverse environment we live in. With an appreciation for diversity, Thai and American children alike can cherish and sustain the long-standing friendship that our forefathers had fostered between the two countries into an even stronger future.

• The Asia-Pacific region and in particular, the Southeast Asia region, has recently established its position in the world not only as a global participant, but also a strong hub of dynamism in all aspects in the region. Thus, one rationale behind the Thai-American Sister School Program is to share with American youths all about Thailand, an active member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as well as other important members of the Asia –Pacific region as a whole.

• Similarly, the USA has long played an important role in the region in several areas such as education, health, science, and economic cooperation. America’s contribution in these areas has helped the lives of peoples in the Asia-Pacific region including those in Thailand.
