Plus, we’ve expanded benefits for students who apply and enroll through Early Decision. From priority course registration and housing selection to early access to financial aid and merit scholarships, ED applicants are first in line for the full AU experience. 🎟️

We’re excited to welcome American University to the DC College Access Program’s University Partner network! 🎓

Together, we’re expanding access to higher education pathways that change lives and strengthen communities in the nation’s capital.

Through this partnership, eligible D.C. students will have access to financial aid and personalized support from enrollment through graduation, with the goal of earning a degree close to home with little to no debt.

Current seniors at D.C. public and public charter high schools can check their eligibility starting October 15 at apply.dccap.org. The DC CAP application opens for eligible students in January 2027.

This past summer, the International Studies sophomore found his footing as a bilingual intern in the Rhode Island Supreme Court’s Access to Justice Office—helping ensure all court users have equitable access to the programs, services, and proceedings of the courts.

From providing interpreting services to supporting the resource center of the District and Family Courts, Alex found the experience fulfilling: “I could create that bond with the people that didn’t speak English. It was nice to be that familiar face.”

His formula for finding—and embracing—an internship? Connections + confidence.
