The British International School of Washington (BISW), located in the Georgetown area of Washington, DC, is a non-sectarian, co-educational college preparatory independent day school for children from 2 to 19 years (UK Nursery to Year 13/US Pre-School to Grade 12). Part of The Nord Anglia Education family of 42 premium schools, BISW is the longest established of the schools in the USA.

What a fun week our BISW students have had so far attending the Junior Global Games located at British International School of Houston! They have had many adventures packed with sports clinics, competitions, afternoon activities and the chance to make new friends from Nord Anglia’s schools across the world.
They even learned to line dance and watched the Rice University v. Temple basketball game!

Continuing the spirit of Great Kindness Week, 🌟 our students are expressing kindness through the art of dance!

In a heartwarming collaboration, Nursery students joined Year 7 in the dance studio to witness a segment of their ballet class, an enriching experience aligned with their ‘When I Grow Up’ unit. 💃🩰

Adding to the rhythm of compassion, Ish*ta in Year 8 shared the beauty of Bharatanatyam dance with Year 2 as an integral part of their ‘Who We Are’ unit. 🌺🕺

We kicked off Great Kindness Week with an uplifting assembly, setting the tone for a week filled with positivity and compassion!

Our Nursery class visited The Little Town Children’s Museum as their Entry Point to kick-start the topic ‘When I Grow Up,’ where they will explore various jobs and roles in the community. The Little Towns neighbourhood features 16 hands-on exhibits, such as a grocery store, fire station, veterinary hospital, post office, restaurant, gym, and other iconic buildings, providing an immersive experience mirroring a real functioning community.
