It has been 16 exponentially awesome years! The USA Science Festival sparked a big idea back in 2010: make science exciting, accessible, and inspiring for everyone—and today, we’re celebrating the many programs that have grown from that first spark.

Founded by Larry Bock, the USA Science & Engineering Festival launched in partnership with Lockheed Martin with a groundbreaking two-day event in Washington, DC, drawing hundreds of thousands of people to celebrate science.

Held biennially, our Expos welcomed up to 350,000 attendees at each event and featured thousands of hands-on exhibits, live stage shows, science celebrities, and interactive STEM experiences for all ages - covering all 2 million square feet of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

In response to our nation’s growing STEM workforce needs, we developed the X-STEM Fellowship to provide educators with lesson plans and a framework designed to connect STEM topics directly to future workforce demands. Fellows bring their students to the X-STEM Workshops event where they participate in hands-on STEM activities.

Learn more about how X-STEM Fellows are helping students imagine futures they may not have considered before.
