Due to the predicted thunderstorms this afternoon, we have to cancel the Block Party this Friday. We will not postpone it because of other events happening (and the sun setting earlier) on the following Fridays. We apologize for the inconvenience!

Breaking News: Capital City students soared high in the latest DC CAPE results! Overall, ELA growth in proficiency was up +9% compared to +2% citywide, with Math gains following close behind. These results show our commitment to providing targeted support so all of our students can thrive.

Some highlights from this year’s results include:
↗️ Our Middle School achieved a +16% ELA growth, ranking 1st among all DC middle schools, and 4th overall for all DC schools.
↗️ Lower School ELL ELA proficiency gained +10% compared to DC's +1.8%.
↗️ Economically disadvantaged students in the Lower School grew +10% in math proficiency compared to DC's +1.6%.
↗️ Our High School Math proficiency increased by +3%, while the overall DC average decreased by -0.2%.

Results like these would not be possible without the collaborative effort and hard work of our staff, families, partners, and students. We are just getting started!
