Onward with the Great Photo/Video Catch-Up of 2026 (Part 3)
To close out this past spring's Celebration of the Arts, six Burke Bands from grades 7-12 showcased a dazzling array of styles and genres.
From Band 7 rocking The Kingsmen and Tito Puente to Intermediate Band 9/10 playing Duke Ellington and Jackson 5 with aplomb to Advanced Band closing us out with Fleetwood Mac, the packed crowd (and spontaneous dancers) greatly enjoyed this high energy musical evening. Excited to return to the Band Room in Fall 2026 ... ðķ

We continue onward with the Great Photo Catch-Up of 2026 ... ð· (Part 2)
Here's a full circle moment: marking the conclusion of their DC high school careers (and midday double periods at Burke), 12th graders in Health, Values & Ethics enjoyed a "choose your own adventure" field trip in May.* Popular choices, of course, included the National Zoo ð
and Tidal Basin ðļ.
Following 8th Grade Moving Up, middle schoolers traditionally spend the last couple school days out and about. 7th grade closed out this year at National Harbor and 6th grade on U Street & at the Zoo. Yes, Ben's Chili Bowl and Top Golf âģ were involved in these respective ventures.
*Backstory with the Nando's mascot remains a mystery ð
