During this College Alumni hour, Nygia shared her first-semester experience with our seniors on attending her first choice a SEED-endorsed school Louisiana State University (LSU) , and how she is adapting in her freshman year.

Nygia is majoring in a 3+3 Sociology and Pre-law program. Enjoy your holiday break and safe travels back to Baton Rouge Nygia.

As a College Prep Boarding School, our scholars reside Sunday-Friday afternoon on our campus and one of our key focuses here at SEED is to ensure college access and readiness is occurring throughout our 24/5 model.

Each of our Student Life houses is named after our SEED Right-Fit college/universities. Thank you to our Youth Development Educator Ms. Grizzle and your house for being a part of the trip. Ms. Grizzle manages the 11th-grade female floor in the dorms and her house floor name is after Virginia Tech.

Rayna is majoring in Pre-Veterinary Technology studying to become a Veterinarian after college. We are proud of you Rayna and safe travels back to Georgia.

Today we hosted our fall school-wide college fair. Tenth (10th) grade scholar Quay-Ari S., greeted our College/University Admission representatives with a token of our SEED DC appreciation for visiting our campus.

Quay-Ari is pictured with Mr. Robert Miller who serves as the Claflin University National Alumni Association President. The Road to College is an important part of our mission!!




The College Counseling Department rescheduled the Family College Counseling Night for Thursday, October 19, 2023. The new registration link will be sent out today to sign up. This night is open to all grade-level families to prepare for the college journey. See you soon!!

I would like to take the moment to highlight Senior Davien Davis who is our first senior to report into the College Counseling office their first College Acceptance into Jackson State University. Davien's major/career interest when he enters college in Fall 2024 is Physical Therapy.

If you see Davien around campus, express your GRATITUDE and appreciation to Davien for his hard work during the college application process. Starting next month each scholar's Right-Fit endorsed college acceptance will be listed in the Senior Bulletin Board on the first floor across from the Culture Suite.

SEED DC parents are there questions about navigating the college admissions process with your scholars?

Wednesday, September 27, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., the college counseling office will host a parent Post-Secondary night on how to navigate the college application/ financial journey.

The location will be in the School Library and via Zoom.

This information night will be open to all grade-level parents who are interested in obtaining information for your scholars starting from 9th to 12th grade.

Registration is required and will be sent out this week September 8

Let's prepare all scholars for their college readiness goals and opportunities together.

GHANA UPDATE: Scholar Nia has returned from Ghana with an experience that will last a lifetime. On her final days in Ghana she had the opportunity to learn kembe in Kumasi, visit a cocoa farm, walk to the Bath of Return (where slaves would take their last bath before being sold), see the Asante King arrival, Cape Coast Castle, and an afrobeats concert. WELCOME HOME NIA! We can’t wait to learn more about your experience abroad! SEED FALCONS ARE GLOBAL!

We are so happy to have resumed our Brazil 🇧🇷 Exchange Program with ONDA SOLIDÁRIA this year after a hiatus due to COVID. 4 scholars and 2 chaperones have joined The SEED School of Maryland and The SEED School of Los Angeles County students/staff in Rio de Janeiro for a week long cultural exchange and community service!
