We are proud to announce Ms. Sharline Nabulime (Nah-Boo-Lee-May) as the new Program Director for the Master of Professional Studies in Journalism. Sharline is an Emerson College alumna with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a love for story-telling. Some of her stories have been featured in The Boston Globe, New Vision, Uganda’s leading newspaper, Touching Lives Magazine, and Ready Magazine. They have also been featured on WCATV where she volunteered as a reporter and anchor while working as marketing director. She later served as VP of Communications at a premiere health care agency in Boston, MA. Most recently, she was the Assistant Director for the African Studies Program at Georgetown’s Walsh School of Foreign Service where her work with students deepened her passion for service in academia.

Sharline is a proud Hoya Mom and currently serves on the Parent’s Council at Georgetown’s Law Center. Outside of work, she is a rails-to-trails advocate, a book and museum lover, occasional blogger, pretend chef, and antique collector. Sharline brings a wealth of experience in communications to her role as Program Director, and she looks forward to serving students in pursuit of their Master’s degrees.

Whether it’s the ever-changing COVID-19 pandemic or the call for greater racial equity in the United States, the White House press corps has been at the frontlines of covering the White House and president of the United States during times of tremendous societal change. Join the conversation with some of the top Black reporters covering the White House as they address a broad range of questions about their role in holding the presidency accountable to the American people and the world.

Panelists include Georgetown alumna Yamiche Alcindor, Anchor & Moderator of “Washington Week” on PBS, Eugene Daniels of POLITICO, Toluse Olorunnipa of The Washington Post, and April Ryan of theGrio. The program will be co-moderated by Dean Kelly Otter and Richard Fowler, a Journalism student at Georgetown’s School of Continuing Studies, and a contributor for Forbes and Fox News.

This event is a collaboration between the Master of Professional Studies in Journalism program at SCS, the SCS Diversity, Equity, Belonging, and Inclusion Council (DEBIC), and the Washington Association of Black Journalists (WABJ).
