We’ll be celebrating this all summer. πŸŽ‰πŸ’™

Every single one of our Rising PK4 and 6th grade scholars re-enrolled for next year. The whole class, coming back together. To all of our families, thank you for continuing to trust us with your children. Knowing that every familiar face will be walking back through our doors in the fall is the best feeling in the world.

Enjoy the rest of your summer, little Bulldogs. We will be right here waiting to hear all about your summers. πŸ’™

As the school year comes to an end, we want to take a moment to honor our K-2 teachers. πŸ’™

Earlier this year, our youngest scholars delivered handwritten notes for the teachers who mean the most to them. Each child thought carefully about who makes them feel safe, seen, and excited to come to school, and then thoughtfully delivered their note.

Looking back on that moment now, at the end of a full and beautiful year, those notes feel even more meaningful. Our K-2 teachers gave so much of themselves to our scholars this year and it showed in every smile, breakthrough, and child who walked through that door feeling loved.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. We hope you enjoy a summer that is as warm and wonderful as the year you gave our kids. πŸ’™

Happy last day of school to our entire Bulldog family! πŸŽ‰πŸ’™

What a year it has been. Our scholars grew in ways that go far beyond any test score or report card. They built friendships, developed character, discovered new strengths, and showed us every single day what it means to be a Bulldog.

To our students: you earned this break. Rest, recharge, and come back ready for everything next year has in store. To our families: thank you for trusting us with your children. It is the greatest honor we know.

Drop a note in the comments to let us know what you’re up to this summer. See you next year, Bulldogs! πŸ’™

As the school year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to celebrate our Middle School Boys Group and the incredible journey they took together this year. πŸ’™

Every Friday, these young men gathered to work on something bigger than academics: brotherhood, leadership, accountability, and the kind of emotional growth that stays with you long after graduation. They role-played real scenarios, had hard conversations, and showed up for each other week after week.

The transformation we witnessed over the course of this program was remarkable. These gentlemen came in as individuals and finished the year as a community.

A huge thank you to Mr. Alsbrooks for making every session engaging, meaningful, and worth looking forward to. What you built with these scholars this year truly mattered. We are so proud of every young man in this group. πŸ’™

THE LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL IS HERE and we could not be more excited to celebrate our Bulldogs! πŸŽ‰πŸ’™

This week is for YOU, scholars. Every early morning and hard assignment. Every moment you pushed through when things got tough. It all led to this. Five days left and we are sending you out in style.

Here’s to the most fun final week yet and a summer full of the best memories. Let's GO, Bulldogs! πŸ’™

Ranked Choice Voting: Here's What You Need to Know 06/04/2026

DC is making history with Ranked Choice Voting and we want every family in our community ready and informed before June 16. πŸ—³οΈπŸ’™

Here is how it works: DC voters approved Ranked Choice Voting, which means instead of choosing just one candidate, you now rank your preferences in order. First choice, second choice, third choice. If your top candidate is eliminated, your vote automatically counts toward your next pick. The result is an election where more voices are heard and every vote carries more weight throughout the process.

Watch the video linked below for a full walkthrough, share it with someone in your community who wants to be prepared, and make a plan to get to the polls on June 16. Your vote matters and now it goes even further. πŸ’™

Ranked Choice Voting: Here's What You Need to Know For the first time in DC history, voters will use Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) in the June 16 primary election. How does it work and why does it matter? Watch ...

Yesterday, seven middle school scholars traveled to the Wilson Building to make their voices heard and tell our councilmembers to fully fund charter schools. These community-minded scholars will be the civic leaders of the future!

Something really special happened at DC Scholars. πŸ’™

Our 1st grade scholars were invited to the 2nd grade Celebration of Learning, where they got a front-row seat to what awaits them next year. The 2nd graders presented on pollination with so much knowledge and confidence that our 1st graders and their teachers left having genuinely learned something new.

Thank you to Ms. Thomas, Ms. Janifer, and Mr. Wildgoose for collaborating to create this experience. And a special thank you to the 2nd graders who welcomed our youngest scholars so warmly and showed them exactly what they have to look forward to. πŸ’™

At DC Scholars, we celebrate our scholars every chance we get and Ms. Hedgepeth leads that charge on the regular. πŸ†πŸ’™

Today we want to shine a light on two of our recent P.A.T.H. Scholar Award recipients: Kendall and Khloe.

Kendall, a 3rd grade scholar, has maintained a strong attendance all year long. He is the kind of student who leads by example every single day just by being consistent, respectful, and dedicated. Seeing him beam with pride after receiving his award was a moment none of us will forget.

Khloe scored a 4 on both ELA and Math DC CAPE during the 2024-2025 school year. And every one of Khloe's three siblings at DC Scholars scored either a 4 or 5 on both ELA and Math DC CAPE as well. That is a family built on hard work and high achievement.

Congratulations to Kendall and Khloe. You make Bulldog Nation so proud. πŸ’™
