And that’s a wrap! Another DC trip in the books! This one was one of the most special ones for me! Not only were the kids amazing, fun to hang out with, always on time, had excellent questions everywhere we went, really listened & took in the information at all the stops we made, but it was my last trip with Mr. Rammer as our principal. He and I have been doing this trip together at MMS since 2004 and it was a bittersweet ending because we were finally able to pull off this trip post Covid after two previous postponements this year. Thank you for all of the memories & fun adventures!❤️ This trip will go down in history!

National Museum of American History and Natural History Museums were great. Francis Scott Key’s Star Spangled Banner and The Hope Diamond were clearly the highlights.
We also got a picture of what the students look like on their phones. 😂

We have made it to the Iwo Jima memorial, WWII Memorial and The National Archives (can’t take pictures inside of there). That’s also the White House there in the background of some of these pics. That’s as close as we could get.
Kids are learning a lot and have seem to hit a little bit of a wall. Lunch and Natural History Museum is next. Hopefully they will bounce back…….. I’m sure they will.

Jerry McNerney
United States Representative of the 9th District met with the students for a brief question and answer period. The congressman and his staff were really impressed with their questions in regards to nuclear power, the drought, Taiwan/China, universal WiFi access, inflation and more. (We were impressed as well.) I see some potential politicians in their future.
