About Us
Harry and Gabriela met somewhat serendipitously in 2014 while they were both living in Germany. They currently reside in Barcelona where they share an apartment with their two cats.
Gabriela was born in Ecuador and raised in Spain and Canada. Her family's exile from Spain during the Franco dictatorship and her Ecuadorian heritage lead her to having a profound interest in social issues and politics. While she mainly focused her career on tourism, she continued to invest her free time in advocating for various social causes and education.
She is now the founder of Gabs Away , a recently launched culinary and cultural series of events created to discuss thought provoking topics.
Harry is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His passion for politics and involvement in public life started young. He served in the US Army in Europe where he continued his engagement and interest with politics and international diplomacy. In Barcelona, Harry has worked with non partisan organizations to inform, and register Americans living abroad on elections and politics in general. He holds a Bachelors degree in International Relations and Military Affairs with a double minor in German and East Asian Studies from the Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina and a Masters degree in Emergency and Disaster Management from Georgetown University.
