A beautiful idea came into existence on Monday, 45 years ago ... The Actors' Center.
... Here's to all the actors in the World! 🎭

Dear Actors' Center members, as some of you may know, on Jan 14th, the board of directors took a decision to remove both the President and the Treasurer from the board of Directors in an effort to begin to reform the running of the Actors' Center.
Our reforms are to ensure we improve the administration of our finances and operations.
New Board Of Directors Members.
In Dec '25, four new members were voted on to the board of Directors, including John Judy as President and board members: Karyn-Siobhán Robinson, and Casting Directors: Jen Katz and Kimberly Skyrme. Each member has already made a valuable contribution to improve the performance of the Actors' Center.
We also acknowledge poor operational performance; as a result, I, John Healy, Interim Executive Director, have assumed additional operational responsibilities on a temporary basis, such as supervising the Notices Hotline, administration of the website, our Membee database, workshop administration and member communications via [email protected].
You should know that I have been working to improve both the reporting and administration of our finances and the operations of our non-profit.
That effort is still in progress and the board are assisting me in this important task.
New Grant.
The good news is that in Dec. '25, I secured a $56K grant from the Commission of Arts & Humanities, which enables us to afford to restart a program of workshops & events this year.
We are planning to hold a Town Hall in Feb. Date will be confirmed as soon as we have confirmed availability of the Tutors for a program of Workshops that I will present at the Town Hall.
Your voice is needed.
I want our members to know that you will have a larger voice to help guide the Actors' Center.
I will propose a members advisory committee and hold regular Town Halls.
I'm very much looking forward to meeting you in person at the Town Hall later in Feb., and by end of next week I'll be able to confirm a date and location for that event. Members can also join via Zoom if they can't make it in-person.
Thank you for your frank feedback I've received from Members, it's been very helpful.
I'm excited for a new era for the Actor' Center.
Please read my announcement on our website here: https://actorscenter.org/news/
And you can reach out to me via: [email protected]
I look forward to hearing from you.

The Actors’ Center is requesting your support to recognize the immense talent of college students in the greater Washington area. In an effort to support their transition from the classroom to working in the industry, we believe that an Actor’s Center membership is vital to his/her own career development. The goal of this campaign is to fund 100 AC Student Membership Scholarships for their first year of membership at a rate of $50.00 per student. Your support of the campaign will support our bold vision of collaborating with local colleges and universities in the area and expanding access to students aspiring to enter the creative and performing arts space.
