¡Ha llegado el momento! Georgetown’s Department of Spanish and Portuguese formally invites you to join our graduate student symposium, GRAPHSY, on February 13, 2026. Mark your calendars! You won’t want to miss this!

This year’s theme is “Creating (dis)continuity”!

🌎 Abstract submissions of 250-300 words are welcome in Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
🎫 All graduate and undergraduate students are eligible to submit abstracts and present, and there is no cost for presenters or registered attendees. Yes, you heard that right!
🗓️ The deadline to send your proposal is Saturday, January 3, 2026.

NEWS!!: In GRAPHSY 2023, some panels will be hybrid and applicants will be allowed to present online. However, given that the hybrid slots are limited, the majority of presentations will be in person.

We are thrilled to announce that submissions are now open for our 2023 edition which will be in person on February 17, 2023. The conference theme is "Encuentros con el cuerpo/ Encontros com o corpo: Attitudes, performances and the senses".
