🚨New Series Alert: Hard Truths from Auntie🚨

Let’s talk about group projects. Here’s a HARD TRUTH…

If you’re the one not pulling your weight in group projects…you’re not getting over.

You’re getting comfortable.

Comfortable being last-minute.

Comfortable being unclear.

Comfortable letting other people carry you.

And that might β€œwork” in class… for now.

But in the real world?
People keep receipts. 🧾

They notice who follows through.
Who communicates.
Who disappears when it’s time to work. 🫠

And when it’s time for promotions, recommendations, or layoffs…
your name will come up.

Not for what you said you’d do.
For what you actually did. 😳

And if your teammates can’t speak highly of you now…
what makes you think your coworkers will later? πŸ‘€

You don’t build work ethic overnight.
You practice it daily. πŸ’ͺ🏾

✨ Auntie Challenge (start TODAY):
Send one message to your group:
β€œHey, I want to take ownership of [specific task]. I’ll have an update by [date/time].”

Then actually FOLLOW THROUGH.

No more hiding. No more coasting. It’s time to step up. βœ…

Are you in a group this semester? Are you or someone else in the group not pulling your weight? Let me know in the comments!

Soooo, I may have gotten a little carried away with March Madness this year. πŸ˜… I put both of my brackets outside of my door. 😎

Anyone one else following along? Who do you have going to the ?

Here’s a hard truth from your College Auntie…

Some academic crises are preventable.

I recently saw a nursing student facing dismissal β€” not because she failed, but because of missing or incomplete assignments. πŸ“

And unfortunately, I see this pattern all the time. πŸ™„

Students who are:
βœ”οΈ smart
βœ”οΈ capable
βœ”οΈ passionate about their field

But they never built a real system for managing their time and responsibilities. ⏰

If you rely on memory, Canvas notifications, or last-minute pressure, you’re leaving too much to chance.

College success is not just about intelligence.
It’s about structure. πŸ“…

If this semester hasn’t gone the way you wanted yet, you still have time to reset.

Start with systems. Read through this post for some helpful tips.

Hot take πŸ‘€πŸ”₯:
Studying 2 hours a day won’t carry you to a 4.0.

Not because you’re incapable.
But because the math doesn’t support it.

College runs on the 2–3 hour rule.
For every 1 credit hour, you should be spending 2–3 hours outside of class learning, practicing, and reviewing.

So if you’re taking 15 credits?
That’s 30–45 hours a week of focused study time.

That doesn’t mean cramming.
It means previewing lectures, reviewing within 24 hours, practicing problems, and testing yourself consistently.

Two hours a day isn’t β€œbad.”
It’s just not aligned with elite results.

✨ Auntie Assignment:
Multiply your credit load by 2.
That number is your minimum weekly study commitment.
Now open your calendar and schedule it before the week starts.

Your GPA reflects your structure.
If you want uncommon results, you need uncommon discipline. πŸ’ͺ🏽

Y’all, this is further proof that professors can tell when you use AI. Please don’t assume that they are naΓ―ve. Don’t say that I didn’t warn you. πŸ’…πŸΎ

Y’all, it’s the end of the semester so it’s time to lock inβ€”however be careful not to do these things so that you don’t end up with an academic dishonesty sanction. Thank me later! πŸ’…πŸΎ

Y’all stop showing up late to events b/c your friend isn’t ready. Their poor time management is NOT your issue. If they’re not ready, tell them that you’ll see them there and LEAVE THEM! Trust me, it’ll be better for you. Thank me later! πŸ’…πŸΎ

I strongly encourage you to prioritize integrity. Many are learning this lesson the hard way. My DMs are overwhelmed with messages from students facing academic sanctions now. πŸ˜…

"A goal without a plan is just a wish." - Antoine de Saint-ExupΓ©ry

Sundays are a great day to reset and reflect on the past week, and prepare for the new week. The process of reflecting and planning can help reduce stress, give you direction, and help you better manage your time.

Make it a habit to reflect/plan for at least 30 mins each Sunday----I promise, that you'll thank me later πŸ˜‰β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹

Here are a few questions to help you get started while reflecting on the past week:
1. What were your goals for the past week?
2. Were you able to accomplish ALL of them? Why or why not?
3. Were there any barriers that you encountered while working towards your goals? What were they, and how did they impact your productivity?
4. What can you adjust or do differently to prevent those barriers (or future barriers) from occurring?

Feel free to share your goals in the comments below! I'd love to cheer you on throughout the week!

unΒ·plug
intransitive verb
To temporarily refrain from using electronic devices (such as computers or smartphones)
***
Let me ask you a few questions...how many times have you checked your phone within the past hour? During that hour, how many times did you scroll through social media? How many TikTok, IG, or YouTube videos/posts did you scroll through? How long were you on your social media profiles? Did you fall into a social media rabbit hole and scroll through videos for longer than you would like to admit (me too πŸ˜…)?
**
Now let me ask you another set of questions: How much time did you spend either resting or working towards your goals within the last 24 hrs? Which number is larger over the last 24 hrs: your social media total or your rest/goal setting total? Does this number surprise you?
**
If we were honest and tallied up all of the time that we spend on social media, we might be a bit shocked with the total number that we see. Sometimes we don't realize how much time we spend on social media until we are pressed for time.
**
Time is truly one of the most valuable things that we have. It’s the only expense that we spend every single day without any possibility of ever making it back. Time is limited, which makes it precious.
**
With this in mind, I encourage you to be more intentional with your time today. Reflect on how to unplug for at least for 1 hr, and put your energy into other things that feed you emotionally, physically, spiritually, etc. Make a plan to tackle a small goal, get outside for fresh air, connect with friends, get some rest, etc. Anything. Just unplug from your normal day-to-day and do something to feed and fuel you. Share below how you plan to unplug today!
