To our graduates: You balanced your school work with many other commitments — work, family, community, volunteer service, issues impacting our country and our world, internships, working out, pursuing hobbies, maintaining friendships, and so much more. What you’ve accomplished isn’t just an academic achievement — it’s a masterclass in grit and resilience.
With what you’ve learned at Georgetown, you’re not just prepared to advance your career, you’ve now got the tools to change the conversation and set new standards. You’ve spent the last few years mastering the art and science of strategy and storytelling. You don’t just know how to write social media content or develop a campaign for a client, you know how to make someone care. That’s not just relevant; it’s revolutionary.
Your voice matters because how we communicate shapes what people believe, value, and do. That’s power … and responsibility. I know you will use it wisely. Please join us in the comments to congratulate the Class of 2025!

I’d like to tell you a little story about the three women in this photo. (by the way, hi! It’s me, Carol, the PRCC Faculty Director)
All three are PRCC alums from different eras spanning 2014ish to today. From L to R: Bella Kerbers, Lauren Gaydos, and Anne Keeney.
They met through the PRCC program. Anne graduated and went to Glen Echo Group first, then years later met Lauren through a PRCC connection and hired her. As Bella began her Capstone semester, a position opened on Lauren and Anne’s team, and the magic of the PRCC network connected Bella to them and she started her new job at Glen Echo a few days before she graduated from the program.
When they texted me this picture today (working with a client on a production), my gosh it was a rush of emotion. Here are three outstanding alums who also are excellent human beings … who made sure they built relationships while here at Georgetown that continue to serve them well in their profession. This is just one of at least 20 examples I can think of in recent years where the strength of Georgetown’s PRCC program and its built-in networking opportunities have made magic happen and helped people elevate their careers in ways they couldn’t have otherwise. Our program is the best in the country in many key areas, but the one that makes my heart happy is the connections our students build with one another, our faculty and advisors, and our alums. There’s nothing else like it. Not even close. 💙💙💙

What a phenomenal night! Thank you to PRCC alums and for your time and your wisdom in sharing your comms expertise when it comes to presidential debates and post-debate PR strategies.
And, big thanks to everyone from the PRCC community who came to our debate party tonight to watch the candidates communicate their priorities to voters and analyze every message during our Zoom chat. We loved being able to connect what you’re learning in the classroom to what’s happening on the national political stage.

CONGRATULATIONS to Natalie Montanez on earning a Summer 2024 Outstanding Capstone honor!
Natalie’s Capstone project was in support of Force Free DC Dog Training & Behavior Consulting. The goal was to raise awareness around the importance of working with certified pet professionals for the well-being of pets, their guardians, and the people who work in the pet services industry.
We asked Natalie for her words of wisdom to those taking Capstone now and in the future. She said, “The Capstone process is challenging, but also illuminating. It forces you to cut through noise and competing priorities to focus on your audience’s perspective and your client’s unique opportunity. If you keep asking yourself ‘how does this connect back to our specific goal and our audience,’ you’ll be successful.”
Way to go, Natalie!

CONGRATULATIONS to Miranda Williams, LCDR, USN, for earning an Outstanding Capstone honor for the Summer Session. Miranda’s Capstone project capitalized on the reputation and resources of the Navy Office of Community Outreach to increase brand awareness of the U.S. Navy among U.S. adult Gen Z females.
When asked about what poignant takeaways she had from her Capstone experience Miranda said, “The most important lesson I learned during Capstone was to slow down, because it was during those times of reflection when I found myself discovering unique insights and solutions.”
Excellent work, Miranda!
