Every year, seniors around the country declare their post-high school plans on May 1, known as Decision Day. This year is special because it is Sojourner Truth’s first ever year with a graduating class - and we got to celebrate it with our very own incredible, illustrious, caring, talented, brilliant, creative, and compassionate Class of 2026!

Surrounded by balloons, confetti, Truth’s drum line, their underclassman peers, music by , families, neighbors, and our staff, each of our seniors shared their college, trade school, military, or any other personal plan on the front yard of our brand new high school campus.

“Proud” doesn’t even begin to describe how we feel about each member of our inaugural graduating class. We can’t wait to see them transform the world!

Good afternoon:

Despite the cold temperatures, we hope that you’re still feeling warmth wherever you may find yourself.

Based upon the improving conditions around the District, we will be returning to on-campus learning, with an on-time start tomorrow.

Thank you for supporting your student with their active participation in virtual learning last week, and we’re excited to welcome everyone back to campus tomorrow.

See you soon!

Good afternoon, Truth families:

As we monitor the continuing active Snow Emergency in the District and review information gathered from various groups and agencies, we have decided to make Friday, January 30 another day of virtual learning. The safety of our students and staff is of utmost importance and we do not believe that the current situation on our streets and in our neighborhoods can currently allow for a safe journey to and from school. Once you arrive on campus, our entryways are clear and welcoming, but your passage here isn’t quite that.

Virtual community meetings will take place again tomorrow at 8:45am, with attendance taken and assignments given. Thank you all for your students’ active involvement and participation in the activities provided thus far. Details for tomorrow will soon be shared.

Please continue to stay safe and warm, and we will be excited to welcome everyone back on campus soon.

We hope you are having a great day, and that you haven’t eaten too many snow snacks (guilty over here..)! 😀 We’re actively monitoring road conditions around the District and around each of our campuses to hopefully be able to return to in-person learning for your student as soon as we can.

Based on various assessments we’ve done, we have decided to continue with another day of virtual learning, with the same flow as the week so far: all students will have virtual check-ins with their classroom teachers at 8:45am with attendance taken and assignments given, with specific details forthcoming.

Our buildings are ready to welcome your students whenever we can issue the green light for in-person learning; but for now, we’ll keep things virtual for at least another day.

We will continue to closely monitor conditions across the District and will provide additional updates as the week progresses.

Please stay safe and toasty!
