Students in Marine Biology visited Dr. Rebecca Helm’s marine science lab at Georgetown University to learn more about the types of research her lab is undertaking and talk about how international policy works in helping to monitor and protect marine life in international waters.

Middle School STEM students at the US Botanic Garden to observe the plants that orangutans interact with and learn more about the importance of biodiversity in our food system.

Algebra 1 students went to the Shaw Basketball Court to film the parabolic motion of their basketball free throws. The students will be uploading their footage into a physics software and analyzing the math of the ball’s trajectory.

Successful day at the Carderock Middle School Math Competition! The students got to tour the additive manufacturing lab where the Navy 3D prints custom parts and the wave pool where they test their prototypes!

11th Grader Liam organized and led a school voting drive! Liam is working on an advocacy project as a part of his internship with New Voters. He is also putting together a documentary about immigration!
