GW Women’s Pre-Law Student Association

ATTENTION: Want to have published articles for your resume? The first set of articles for the WPLSA newsletter is due OCTOBER 27th!!

Articles must be at least 1 page long with proper citations. They can center around anything law related (ex- Supreme Court Rulings, current events, interviews with professional in the legal field, book reviews, etc).

When ready to submit- email to [email protected],edu !!!! This is a great way to get involved and have published articles.

Our next member spotlight is Madi Lee, our current Director of Public Relations and Spring Semester President!!

Last semester, Madi had the amazing opportunity to work on Capitol Hill for her state’s representative. She led tours of the Capitol, assisted with social media marketing and communication, and learned about legislative processes. Currently, she is working at a nonprofit law firm as a Charitable Registrations Intern, assisting paralegals with state registrations and financial statements. We are so proud of Madi and her accomplishments!

Our next member spotlight is Ella Marsh, our Director of Scholarship!

Ella worked for Representative Rashida Tlaib as a legislative intern during the past spring semester. In this role, she helped with reviewing, organizing, and filing constituent casework. She also assisted with legislative research and had the chance to draft multiple speeches to be read on the house floor! We’re so proud of Ella and her outstanding accomplishments🫶🫶

Kicking off our member spotlights: ELLIE SMALL (current co-president)!!!! This summer, Ellie completed her second internship with the US Office of Senator Jeanne Shaheen [D-NH]. Ellie previously worked on the Hill as a Legislative Intern with Senator Shaheen, but returned to NH this summer to learn about the district side of Senate politics. Ellie had the opportunity to staff events, such as a visit with NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, and attend a Naturalization Ceremony for new citizens obtaining their official naturalization documents. Ellie was responsible for writing grant support letters, event letters, and constituent communications on behalf of the Senator. She also spent much of her time assisting with casework and learning about constituent services. We are so proud of Ellie and her well-earned accomplishments!!
