We started the Pharmacy Informatics Academy because, even though we were highly interested in pharmacy informatics early in our education, there were very few opportunities to learn and gain experiences.
According to the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) standards, education should include pharmacy informatics as a competency. After speaking with many pharmacists and students across the nation, basic concepts of pharmacy informatics are covered very little or not even addressed at all.
We are excited to announce the launch our first official course! After spending countless hours and months into it, we put together a course to give others a basic understanding of pharmacy informatics.
While this is huge milestone at the Pharmacy Informatics Academy, we do want to iterate that this is NOT a golden ticket into pharmacy informatics. However, the information provided could go a long way to share awareness on the field of practice and may even kickstart new ideas and thoughts from the community.
