Earlier this year, Dr. Erika Edwards, and scholar focused on Black historical and contemporary experiences in the Americas, visited Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá, Colombia. During her visit, Dr. Edwards presented on Black women's resistance movements across the Americas and the significance of Afro-Colombianidad. She also delivered the keynote address at the National Museum on the anniversary of the abolition of slavery in Colombia, sharing her expertise with a national audience.

Sen. Patrick Leahy has always understood the vital role that institutions like World Learning and School for International Training (SIT) play in educating and preparing individuals to do extraordinarily important work worldwide.
Before he left office, he secured critical federal funding to help strengthen the New Vermonter Education Program that SIT and World Learning launched with local partners to resettle refugees in southern Vermont.
