In July, government and industry leaders from across Southeast Asia traveled to Alabama through the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) to explore how the United States is strengthening critical mineral supply chains.
The participants visited communities across Alabama, including Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Alexander City, and Coosa County. Along the way, they met with local experts and learned about mining and workforce training, graphite production and processing, advanced materials manufacturing, and regional economic development.
