What if everything we thought we knew about traumatic brain injury was only part of the story?

We're excited to welcome Scott Bukow, founder of GBA Gut-Brain Axis, Functional Medicine practitioner, and traumatic brain injury survivor, to Brain Summit Charlotte 2026.

In his session, "Is Traumatic Brain Injury a Chronic Disease? Rethinking Recovery Through the Lens of Modern Neuroscience," Scott will challenge the traditional understanding of TBI and explore why many individuals continue to experience symptoms long after rehabilitation ends.

Discover how emerging neuroscience is reshaping our understanding of brain injury, recovery, and the biological systems that may influence long-term brain health. This session offers a hopeful, evidence-informed perspective on what's possible for survivors, caregivers, and healthcare professionals alike.
