Georgetown Summer IR Students also experience the opportunities of Washington, DC by attending an embassy briefing and meeting with a Congressman on Capitol Hill.

The Georgetown Summer International Relations Institute for High School Students, fondly referred to as "Summer IR," is a week-long program that guides students through an unforgettable exploration of the world of global diplomacy. Through presentations from distinguished Georgetown professors and experts in the field, students gain an in-depth understanding of a wide range of issues, from human rights and terrorism to climate change and development aid. Through a rigorous and engaging week in the nation’s capital, students not only transform their notions about the world, but also about their ability to change it.
