My name is Dr. George Hillman, and I am the Vice President for Education at Dallas Theological Seminary.

I am reaching out to some of our sister schools to ask their help in getting the word out about a crucial hire here at Dallas Theological Seminary.

We are looking for an Assistant Dean of Students who would focus on two populations: our male students and our international students (male and female).

The job posted is at [https://www.dts.edu/job/assistant-dean-of-students-advisor-to-men-students-director-of-international-students/](https://www.dts.edu/job/assistant-dean-of-students-advisor-to-men-students-director-of-international-students/)

This person will need to be able to serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) with the US Department of Homeland Security and eventually transition to become the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) for Dallas Theological Seminary (a role I currently hold).

If you know of any seminary or masters-level graduates who have a passion for helping international students (maybe some who is himself a naturalized US citizen or second-generation US citizen) and discipling men, please encourage them to apply.

We are trying to cast the widest possible net for this hire.

Thanks for your help.

Said with love - if anyone is thinking about the need to leave higher ed during these tumultuous days, I'm hosting a free Career Pivot interview on Dec 10th. I'll interview a career pivotor - Jackie Broussard - who has worked in education, as a business analyst for a large company, and as a health/fitness consultant. I'm also a career pivoter (3x) and have pivoted in/out of higher ed successfully.
I realize these are tough times. Join us if you can. (It is free.)

The newly-introduced Senator Paul Simon Act of 2022 would codify and strengthen an existing U.S. State Department grant program, the IDEAS program, rename it in honor of a true study abroad champion, the late U.S. Senator Paul Simon of Illinois, and provide a source of grant funding to U.S. colleges and universities so that a greater and more diverse number of undergraduate students may study abroad. Join us in urging your elected officials to cosponsor it!

Urge Your Lawmakers to Support Expanding and Diversifying Study Abroad! The bipartisan Senator Paul Simon Study Abroad Program Act of 2022 has been introduced in Congress and promises to be a game-changer in terms of expanding access to the critical skills that study abroad experiences provide.
