Education abroad programs can greatly benefit from a non-Eurocentric approach, which emphasizes and amplifies a broader range of global perspectives and narratives. Incorporating these varied viewpoints into the education abroad curriculum fosters a more comprehensive and respectful understanding of our global community, enriching the educational experience for all students. Use this rubric, designed by the EAKC Diversity & Inclusion subcommittee, as a reflective starting point for assessing the inclusivity of your education abroad portfolio.

🌏📣 As we celebrate , NAFSA has released updated data on the economic contributions made by international students studying at colleges and universities across the U.S.

During the 2022-'23 academic year, they generated more than $40 billion in economic activity and supported more than 368,000 jobs--in addition to the many benefits they bring to our classrooms, campuses, and communities.

This is the second consecutive year of growth following the downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This increase is encouraging but we must do more to recruit, retain, and graduate a greater and more diverse community of international students.

One business administration major with a concentration in health care management said this about taking a course focused on holistic medicine in Morocco: "They did an incredible job building a trip that you couldn’t do by yourself. I would have never chosen to go to Morocco, to go to a village in the Atlas Mountains, and meet with a midwife and a shaman. I would not be as open-minded of a person and as a student if it weren’t for the Sophomore Expedition.”
