(On-Campus Event) Nov. 2, 2022, from 4 - 5 PM, join three SIS faculty members—all former US ambassadors—for an event featuring Ambassador Anthony Quainton discussing his new book, Eye on the World: A Life in International Service. Ambassador Piper Campbell and Ambassador Earl Anthony “Tony” Wayne will also participate in the conversation. The three speakers will discuss how the role of ambassador has changed over time and how it has remained the same, relations between Washington and the field, and the interagency aspects of the job. They will discuss the coursework, extracurricular activities and career opportunities that prepared them to succeed as international affairs practitioners. The USFP program invites you to "A Conversation with Major General Andrew M. Rohling", U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa commander, on the state of U.S. engagement with Africa. The event will be moderated by Professors Bill Belding and Eric Novotny. Topics to be discussed include security cooperation events on the continent with our African partners and European allies; great power competition in Africa; VEO activity and challenges and opportunities in different African regions.
