Could not resist a pause in my prep to meet up with my , & at the to see just one of ’s quilts with my own eyes. I don’t have the a word in my vocabulary to capture all that her art communicates & inspires.

The mesmerization was absolutely worth the hour or so sacrifice.

Join me for a virtual class on Tuesday evening to make the gorgeous Wax + Wool Tote by ! This bag is a fantastic project if you’re a newer sewist and an excellent palate cleanser if you’ve been making masks for months.

I chose Waxer Canvas, Primavera Canvas for the exterior and Add It Up by for the lining, but that was before I saw the Haystack Canvas that came in this week soooooo I *may* make a change... I have cotton webbing for handles, but I’m gonna check in with to see if I can get my hands on strap leather and rivets.

We are a big fan of Noodlehead Bag Patterns at .sewingco! They're fun to sew, well designed, and great to learn from. In this class, students will learn the basics of bag making, work with new materials (waxed canvas or cork), and install leather handles and rivets. Alternatively, students may use cotton webbing in lieu of leather handles.

The Wax + Wool tote is a classic and sophisticated tote featuring waxed canvas. This simple and elegant tote will look great with anything and will keep your must-have essentials close at hand. A divided front pocket is perfect for stashing keys and a phone. Don’t let the name fool you, this tote is great in all types of fabrics.

Class meets for two 2- hour sessions via Zoom. August 25th + Sept 1st 7-9pm.
