We are thrilled to have the Summer For Democracy Teach-In at Howard University. School is out and we’re headed into a long hot summer. This collective of scholars, organizers, lawyers, politicians, and community members are focused on bringing practical insights to our communities.

When we say “community,” this includes our home
campus of Howard University; our city in Washington D.C.; our fellow HBCU’s; and our international community, with which we stand
proudly. Democracy is global and local work, and
we have the collective know-how to create a
beautiful future together.

Hope to see you here

2024 was a decade. It was the worst of times and wasn’t the best of times. But a time was had & I still dream in bright colors. Cheers to 2025, the last year of my 30s

Generative and engaging talk with The Brookings Institution, led by Keesha Middlemass & accompanied by Matthew Brown with Associated Press and Drs. Ashley Daniels and Rashawn Ray. Special shout out to our UCI colleague Tiffany Willoughby Herard who we were able to acknowledge, and to all the brave protesters facing repression in the belly of the beast in the name of fighting back against the evil military regimes dominating our world & committing genocides around the world. Keep fighting.
