Thanks so much to Bryan Braxton for sharing this wonderful piece of Tiny Tot history!😍

The photo on the left shows his mother, Kathy Thomas, who was crowned the 1956 Tiny Tot School of St. Louis, Inc Queen👸🏽 (pictured on the right).

Because Kathy is wearing the same outfit in both photographs, I believe these moments were captured on the very same day—Sunday, June 24, 1956. At that time, Tiny Tot's graduation ceremony and royal coronation were held on the same day, making these two photos a remarkable glimpse into a very special occasion in the school's history.🤩

Do you recognize anyone in these photos or have memories of Tiny Tot's graduation and coronation celebrations? We'd love to hear your stories!

They wore the crowns then. They’re running the world now. 👑✨
Long before “representation” became a viral movement, Kermit B. Hill was quietly building an empire of self-worth.
In 1950, her husband insisted she quit her classified position guarding WWII secrets to become a stay-at-home mom.
One year later, she’d started a home business—the iconic Tiny Tot Nursery School—creating a world where generations of Black children could become kings and queens.
THEN: Through her famous annual Royal Coronations, preschoolers stepped onto the stage in tiaras, tuxedos, and elegant gowns, building a foundation of unshakable confidence.

NOW: Decades later, those same Tiny Tot Queens are living proof of her vision.

Written by her daughter, Francene Mary Diane Hill, Tiny Tots in Tiaras and Tuxedos: The Life, Love, and Business Success of Kermit B. Hill pulls back the velvet curtain—sharing carefully preserved love letters, rare photographs, and news clippings from her mother’s extraordinary life.
