GW Investment Institute Learning by doing The GW Investment Institute (GWII) teaches students at George Washington University how to invest and how to think about investing.

GW undergraduate and graduate students learn by doing, they serve as analysts and portfolio managers, managing over $9 million in university endowment funds across four student investment funds covering: equities, real estate, and quantitative investing. The institute also offers a class on venture capital. In the finance classes taught by the GW Investment Institute, students: perform equity rese

arch, develop an investment thesis, pitch stocks; gain exposure to quantitative modeling; learn how to utilize research tools such as: FactSet, Bloomberg, BlackRock's Aladdin technology, and PitchBook; connect with alumni and industry professionals; qualify to receive a financial award for stellar performance in class.

Experiential learning is at the core of Quantitative Investing with Professor Lake. Students are able to think critically about market news, enhance their technical skills, and engage in a strong team setting as they build their final quantitative models throughout the semester. Congratulations to Investment Advice, Judy Abdo, John Milback, Mateo Moya, and Eila Nambiar, on receiving second place for their quantitative model!
