Pictures from our Fall Morning Meetup yesterday! Dance majors/minors came together to talk about their future projects, offer advice, and listen to our amazing faculty’s career journeys.
Celebrating this years senior cohort! These students ran an amazing audition to begin their capstone research journey last Friday. We cannot wait to see what they create.
Last Chance to register for DNCE-306 Histories of Dance!
In fulfillment of the Diversity and Equity Learning Outcomes, this course invites students to examine dance practices through lecture, films, discussion, and movement in relationship to power, race, gender, and class. What are the connections between African-American Hip Hop and Brazilian Capoeira? How do American dance histories include or exclude the voices and contributions of women, people of color and other marginalized social groups? After taking this class you will never see the world quite the same way again!
DNCE-360 Histories of Dance counts towards the dance major and dance minor, and it’s open to all students on campus to fulfill the Diversity & Equity (DIV) course requirement in the AU Core.
