Weekly Activities Recap | February 9β14
This week was full of hands-on learning, family connection, leadership development, and skill building in our community!
β¨ Archery Training
Students practiced focus, discipline, and coordination while learning the fundamentals of archery. Mind steady. Body aligned. Eyes on the target.
πΊοΈ Mapping Where We Live
We explored geography in a practical way by mapping our local area and learning how to use a compass for direction. Understanding where we are helps us better understand where weβre going.
πΏ Composting & Stewardship
We continued learning about soil health and stewardship by working with compost. Turning scraps into soil reminds us that growth takes patience and intention.
ποΈ Teen Hands-On Business Experience β Black Wall Street
Our teenagers gained real-world experience working at the Teeβs & Souvenirs Shop on historic Black Wall Street. From customer service and money management to branding and responsibility, they are learning entrepreneurship, work ethic, and legacy in action. This is what applied education looks like!
π Homeschool Hangout
Our homeschool families gathered for encouragement, collaboration, and social connection. Iron sharpens iron, and community strengthens the journey.
π² Family Game Night
Laughter, strategy, teamwork, and bonding! Game night reminded us that learning also happens through joy and relationship-building.
π One-on-One Literacy Training
Focused literacy sessions helped strengthen reading skills and comprehension. We believe strong readers become strong thinkers.
ποΈ Shabbat Review
We closed the week reflecting, reviewing lessons, and resting intentionally. Review builds retention, and rest restores the soul.
We are building strong minds, disciplined bodies, business leaders, and healthy soil β literally and spiritually. π±
If youβre interested in joining or learning more about our community-centered, hands-on approach to education, send us a message!

July has been a busy month for the Wade family but what's new right? π€£ π€·π½ββοΈ Our family along with other Ward 7 community stakeholders hosted a two-week summer coop, consisting of Team Building Activities, Gardening, and Fitness, along with culturally relevant guided lessons on various principles, good character and social justice.
Throughout this process, the children were exposed to the beauty of living in Ward 7 via agrotourism tours along the Watts Branch Corridor with an emphasis on the Marvin Gaye Trail and the Dix Street Applied Research Garden, Kingman/ Heritage Island, Aquatic Gardens. This has truly been a collaborative endeavor as the adults learned just as much as the youth; all while working together.
