As the 3 week Winter School holidays begin in South Africa, some learners may be fortunate to go away on a holiday, whilst some are provided a safe space within the warmth of their homes. For learners who remain in the townships, the choices can be limited, unsupervised, or even unsafe.

In the Mamelodi Township, SA .mamelodi.initiative plays an active role in accomodating learners by providing additional tutoring to support the curriculum, in the space of a classroom. This translates to enabling over 300 Youth to spend 3 weeks actively investing in their education and their future.

A powerful few days attending the Vital Voices Global Partnerships Festival. It was a privilege to be in the presence with changemakers who are working to increase opportunity, protect human rights, and creating spaces for women and girls. A buzz of activities at the 2024 Spring Meetings of The World Bank, with a focus on Africa and solutions to accelerate progress on the continent.
held key discussions on trade and education. Noted that progress is underway by promoting visa policies between countries, to facilitate lead times for movement and trade.
With the projection that African youth will account for 42% of the global youth population by 2030, a WB study based on the Early Childhood Development sector in East Africa was discussed, to unlock potential and promote inclusion of learners from an early age.

The program now in its ninth year, focuses on the development of women entrepreneurs leading for profit, purpose driven businesses, that are delivering innovative solutions to the World's greatest challenges, by advancing the UN SDG's.
