With our new logo, we wanted to create new (and updated) marketing materials that let everyone know what we are up to. Here is a tri-fold with a short summary of the NUITF. Please reach out to us with any questions you may have!

An Update From Our Co-Chair 01/16/2026

You may have noticed we have a new logo. This decision was made by our Trustees a couple of months ago as they recognize the Fund's effort to expand all areas of training in the utility industry and possibly beyond. The new logo color of green is meant to signify our focus on safety and one simple hardhat to signify outreach to all workers.
Accordingly, we have re-branded our website https://nuitf.org/ and encourage you to check it out.
Finally, one of the Co-Chairs of the Fund, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Secretary Treasurer Paul Noble, has been kind enough to shoot a short update video for us and we hope take a couple of minutes to watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEMqYjWKvJ8

An Update From Our Co-Chair IBEW International Secretary-Treasurer Paul A. Noble provides an update on NUTIF expanded offerings for 2026.

Honored and proud to participate last week in Providence, RI at the 2025 Mideast LAMPAC on the Workforce Development Panel. Great open dialogue with everyone about the coming needs in the energy industry! We have tremendous opportunities ahead of us, although some may see them as challenges. Was able to throw in a plug for the new https://cleantechnologytrainingtrust.org/ as well!!!!

Rarely will you run across someone who hasn't been affected either directly or indirectly by some form of cancer. This year, we join everyone in the fight against breast cancer and wish all those battling a successful outcome.

The National Utility Industry Training Fund is saddened to announce the passing of former Trustee Brian Thompson. Brian served from 2018 until he retired on July 1, 2024, to focus on his battle with cancer. Please keep his family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.

There is always a LOT going on at the National Utility Industry Training Fund, from assisting customers to the development of new programs. Every once in a while, we have a change in our Board of Trustees.
On April 1, IBEW Utility Department Director Donnie Colston finally "hung up his hooks" and called it quits, after 44 years. Following his announcement, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers President Kenneth "Coop" Cooper appointed Drew Stover to be the new Director of the Utility Department, and also to take Donnie's place as Secretary on our Board of Trustees. We wish Donnie the ABSOLUTE VERY BEST in his retirement and thank him for all of his contributions, not only to the IBEW, but also to the NUITF.
And, we welcome Drew aboard and are excited to bring him up to speed (won't take long as sharp as he is!). Drew comes from IBEW Local 84 in Atlanta, GA where he had served two terms as Business Manager prior to his appointment by IP Cooper earlier this month.

On Monday, July 29th, the NUITF Trustees held an in-person meeting at the Training Facility of DTE in Westland, MI. We are grateful to Trustee Jason Shultz for hosting and setting up the tour of their location and are grateful to have such a strong leadership team in this organization!
