Yesterday, WANADA celebrated the latest graduates of the Automobile Dealer Education Institute (ADEI).

We were honored to have Montgomery County Council Member Kristin Mink, Prince George’s County Council Member Jolene Ivey , and Maryland State Senator William C. Smith, Jr. join us for the graduation luncheon and celebrate the accomplishments of these emerging automotive technicians.

Congratulations to our graduates, and thank you to the educators, mentors, dealers and community leaders who continue to invest in the next generation of automotive talent.

Milo's career journey started in high school. Today, he's on the path to becoming a highly skilled automotive technician.

Introduced to the industry through WANADA's partnership with Montgomery County Public Schools, Milo turned curiosity into a career. After joining Fitzgerald Automotive Group, he entered the ADEI Registered Apprenticeship Program and has continued to excel every step of the way.

This August, he'll complete his apprenticeship, proving what's possible when education, industry, and workforce programs come together to create real career opportunities.

The future of the automotive workforce starts with apprentices like Milo.

Success is even stronger when you have someone who's been in your shoes.

Walter joined the ADEI apprenticeship in 2025 and is already thriving. After transitioning to a Spanish language class, he's earned a 92% average while continuing to grow his technical skills at Passport Mazda.

With guidance from Osmar, an ADEI graduate and fellow Spanish speaker, Walter is gaining the confidence, certifications, and experience to build a rewarding career in the automotive industry.

Support. Mentorship. Opportunity. That's what apprenticeship is all about.

Osmar's journey is proof that talent grows when opportunity meets the right support.

After beginning the ADEI apprenticeship in 2023, Osmar faced a challenge many apprentices experience. English was his second language, making written coursework more difficult. With support from the EARN grant, a Spanish speaking instructor was added to the program, giving Osmar the tools he needed to succeed.

He graduated in 2025, now earns more than $100,000 annually as a technician, and is helping mentor the next generation of apprentices at Passport Mazda.

The right support doesn't just change careers. It changes lives.
