Therapists of the Week Spotlight! 🌈✨
This week, we’re shining six well-deserved spotlight on our exceptional therapists who’ve gone above and beyond to make a positive impact. Their dedication, empathy, and commitment to mental health are truly inspiring. The other half goes as follows:
1. Dr. Sèkou Fraser, PhD, LPC-S: A psychologist and marriage & family therapist with over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. My passion lies in assisting families seeking asylum through comprehensive immigration evaluations. He also deeply understands the challenges and complexities that families face when navigating the immigration process in the United States.
2. Denise Valentin, LMHC, LPC, NCC: At Discovery Mental Health Counseling, our team has been conducting assessments and reports for immigration since 2014 and can serve clients in NY, FL, NJ, and TX remotely and in person. We have worked on thousands of cases, including high-profile cases. We have trained several clinicians in the field on conducting assessments.
3. Maria Jefferson, LPC: As the first Chilean-American born, her careers and volunteer work speak to her continued commitment to individuals and communities, particularly BIPOC and Limited English Proficient individuals. For 20+ years, she dedicated her career as a trained Spanish interpreter in legal, judicial, social, government, corporate, medical, therapeutic, and psychiatric settings, significantly contributing to immigration cases and psychological evaluations, which influenced her career change into the mental health field to expand bilingual access to quality care.
