We had such a fun time during our Hallway Dance Party today. Bluejay Way celebrations are the best!

We are learning about zoologists and all of their jobs this week, including observing animals. We observed live animals at the San Diego and Smithsonian National Zoos and recorded our data in our researcher's journals.

Thank you Mrs. Lapides for coming to 3rd grade and kicking off our Healthy Snack initiative. Third graders get to have Mrs. Lapides and Mr. Victor visit their rooms once/month to teach them a healthy snack they can independently make at home. We appreciate them and the grant that allows us to do this every year. Today it was apple slices and a cup of Jif Peanut Butter.

This summer I'm taking time to refresh and revive my classroom library. Some books have been well loved and others are just not of interest so it's time to retire them. I'm also a firm believer in letting kids take books home because sometimes those are the only books they have at home. Unfortunately, they don't always come back, which I am torn about because I'd rather they have something than nothing but then my other students don't get to enjoy those books either.

To replenish my library, I've created a list of items I'd love to add to my classroom in addition to a few other odds and ends. If you'd like to help my classroom and students by donating any items on my list I'd be very grateful. Thanks!
