State of the Arts Karate and Wellness Center

Over the weekend we had Ben Jones in to work with our team. He gave a great group seminar on Saturday and taught private lessons on Sunday. He is as talented a teacher as he is a martial artist and competitor. Special shout out to Sensei Sean for setting this up. The kids had a great time and learned some new skills as well as tightening up what they already have. Thank you to “the truth” for an amazing weekend, you have lots of new fans! Looking forward to having you back again soon!

You can’t train the same as everyone else and expect to be better than them. Ryan has always worked hard but he is taking that to a whole new level. Everyone is on notice, Ryan is relentless. He is now incorporating plyometrics and resistance training to his workouts. Ryan will come to the Dojo and after 3 hours of practice, I’m trying to give him a hint that practice is over by turning off the radio and lights. He thinks, yes now we get to train in the dark! 😂😂😂 He never wants to stop! Keep in mind that he is only 6 years old! Ryan and the rest of our team will be competing at the KRANE summer Martial Arts Championship on Sunday at the Crowne Plaza hotel and event center in Warwick. Wish us luck, see everyone there! 🥋💪

The Addie and Maddie show made a stop at the The U.S. Open ISKA World Martial Arts Championships held at Disney’s Coronado Springs resort in Orlando Florida. It is the largest event on the North American Sport Karate Association (NASKA) calendar and one of the most prestigious international events in the Country. To win any ONE of the events at this tournament would be a great accomplishment, between the two of them they won 14 Gold Medals 1 Silver and 2 Grand Championships, here are the girls individual results, simply amazing!
Maddie 8+9 Advanced, 1st place in traditional weapons, creative weapons, musical weapons, extreme weapons, traditional forms, creative forms, extreme forms, 2nd in musical forms. She won both the weapons and forms run offs and captured the overall Grand Championships in weapons and forms. that is as close to a sweep of every division she competed in as you can get, outstanding!
Addie 9+under Black Belt, 1st place in Traditional weapons, musical weapons, extreme weapons, traditional forms, creative forms, musical forms and extreme forms. She tied for 1st in the run offs for Black belt weapons Grand Championship but got runner up when they broke the tie. This was against kids 2 age groups older than her. She was dominant in the highly competitive Black Belt divisions, spectacular!
Next up for the girls and our entire team is the KRANE summer martial arts championship on Sunday July 12 at the Crowne Plaza hotel and event center in Warwick R.I. Wish them all luck or better yet, come by and cheer them on!!!! Let’s go Pitbulls!!!!

Getting ready for our next team tournament. On July 12 we will be competing at the KRANE Summer Martial Arts championship to be held at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, it is the 2nd leg of the KRANE triple crown. We are working on the jump Roundhouse kick, we have 2 1/2 weeks to get it right, they are getting close. let’s go Potbulls!!

I want to wish THE AMAZING MADDIE MILLS good luck! She is heading to Atlanta today, where she will be competing in 8 events at the Battle of Atlanta World Championships in Georgia over the weekend.
