I know this is a detour from my normal content, but I just have to tell you about this place!

My friend, Chef Brynn Gibson , is doing amazing things at Maria’s Cucina in Providence! (Fun fact - she competed on Hell’s Kitchen and made it to the top 4!)

The building itself is gorgeous and full of RI Italian-American history, but let’s be honest you wanna know about what to eat!

So let’s talk food:
- I think about that focaccia on a regular basis. It’s so popular they are selling loaves to take home!
- Pumpkin ravioli with an amaretto cream sauce = pure fall perfection!
- My friends greatly enjoyed their scallops with risotto and rigatoni bolognese.
- I personally judge every Italian restaurant I go to by their chicken parmesan and this dish did not let me down! The chicken was crispy and the sauce had great flavor.
- This limoncello tiramisu… holy $*! #. One of the best desserts I have had in a very long time! Such a fun twist on a classic!
- Apple crisp is my favorite fall dessert! If you’re a bread pudding fan, you have to try this pumpkin bread pudding. These had all the warm spices you could want.

Brynn is just getting started! I can’t wait to see what the future holds, but I know it will be delicious!

Come with me to spend the day running errands dressed like as a pirate. 🏴‍☠️ ❤️

On the agenda - find a jar of dirt (for safety), do some pillaging and plundering, and then celebrate with a drink.

First stop - The Veiled Crow in Cranston. While I did not find a jar of dirt, their selections of incense, crystals, candles, and accessories are unmatched. To be honest, I ended up letting the vibes take me and came home with some cool stuff. The Veiled Crow 🐦‍⬛ witchcraft / metaphysical

Next up - The Ocean State Spice and Tea Merchants in Wayland Square. I was impressed by the number of whole spices, spice blends, and tea varieties this shop had! Instead of pillaging and plundering I perused and paid and ended up grabbing some spices I was running low on as well as a marzipan tea and a cranberry tea, which were delicious. Finally - I met up with some friends to revel at Rhode Island’s first meadery, Arcane Mead and Winery in Olneyville. I was very intrigued by their “Float On A Scoop” - essentially a boozy root b**r float - and tried that first! Then I decided to try a flight of meads - it was hard to choose which to try! All-in-all, for a day that did not start according to plan, I’d call it an absolute success!

Is it just me, or does it seem like everybody in Rhode Island is playing Mah Jongg these days? 🀄️

If you want to get in on the game but don’t know where to begin, might I suggest taking beginner Mah Jongg lessons with ? Located in Newport every 2nd Monday of the month, you can find Dotsie and friends teaching all about the tiles!

Once you’ve learned the game - come back for free open play! Same time/place as lessons!

If you want to get in on the game, make a reservation online for lessons or open play at Stoneacre Garden (spring/summer) or Stoneacre Brasserie (fall/winter).

Take the intimidation out of learning to bake sourdough with 7 Kings Market’s Sourdough 101 class!

This course is a perfect combination of instruction and hands-on experience. You show up to class with nothing and leave with a dough that you made and is ready to bake the next day.

After the class, there is also a Facebook group where students are able to share their sourdough journey and ask questions.

This is a great class to take solo or grab some friends and start your own little sourdough squad!

RHORI x RITDL 📋☑️

has me hooked! I’m a sucker for any show that takes place in New England, but there’s something about seeing my local haunts as the backdrop to some iconic television that just hits different.

After seeing the ladies hit up some of my favorite spots (👋🏻 ) I thought it might be fun to give them some recommendations of my own to add to their To Do Lists!
