Summer is the perfect time to relax, explore new adventures, and let your imagination soar through a great book! Whether you’re reading at the beach, by the pool, or curled up at home, every page counts.

✨ Don’t forget to sign up for your local Summer Reading Program! It’s a fun way to stay engaged, earn prizes, and keep those reading skills sharp before the new school year.

The Central Library on Sandy Lane is hosting the Summer Food Service Program, which is a federally-funded, state administered program to help provide no-cost, healthy meal and snack access to children and teens through age 18. Children and teens can come to the Library for breakfast and/or lunch each week day. Breakfast will be served from 9:00 - 10:00 am, and lunch will be served from 1:00 - 2:00 pm. There is no need to register for the program. The program will run through Friday, August 22. No meals will be served on Monday, August 10 (Victory Day).

Help us show our amazing Sherman staff just how much they’re appreciated! We’re looking for monthly sponsors to help keep the teachers’ room stocked with snacks, drinks, coffee, and other treats that brighten their day.

Whether you’re a family, local business, or community member, your donation helps provide chips, pretzels, seltzer, soda, K-Cups, creamer, sugar, and more for the staff throughout the month.

It’s time to start checking off those back-to-school shopping lists! School supply lists are now available, so you can get everything your child needs for a successful school year.

🖍️ Be sure to label all of your child’s belongings (backpacks, lunch boxes, water bottles, jackets, and supplies) to help keep items out of the Lost & Found!

We can’t wait to welcome all of our Sharks back for another amazing year of learning, growing, and making memories.

Right now, only 20 Sherman students have signed up for the summer reading program at the library. We’d love to see many more Sharks participate! It’s a fun way to earn prizes, discover great books, and keep your reading skills growing all summer.
