As you know our beloved teacher Unateresa Sheahan-Gormley passed away on April 10 2026. 2 weeks after our Big Apple/Betty Murphy Memorial Feis weekend and few weeks before our Orange County Feis

If you knew Unateresa her life was dedicated to her dancers and all young men and women. She believed in shaping our youth for their future

In her honor our Orange County Feis will be renamed The Unateresa Sheahan-Gormley Memorial Feis

Save the date Saturday November 7, 2026. Once all paperwork is completed and we have MAR syllabus approval we will get the entries opened on FeisWeb and full syllabus will be posted

Today I am writing to inform our followers of the passing of our beloved TC Unateresa Sheahan-Gormley after a valiant fight. she can now rest peacefully in God’s arms. Our hearts are truly broken 💔

On behalf of the Irish Dance Teachers' Association of North America, we are looking forward to hosting you all at the 2026 North American Irish Dance Championships and Convention in beautiful Orlando, Florida. The days only timetable is now available and can be downloaded by going to naidc26.com/schedule.

You may have noticed that the days only timetable reflects different dates than those that were originally shared on IDTANA's website in the fall. This is a result of a couple of factors, but ultimately was an error in our communication and for that we sincerely apologize. Additional dates had to be added to our original venue contract to allow for adequate set up and tear down time, convention time, and six days of competition. It was in making those changes to our contract that we made an error in the originally published dates.

The new and correct dates for the 2026 NAIDC are as follows:
IDTANA convention: July 1, 2026 (previously announced as June 30, for IDTANA-registered teachers only)
Competition days: July 2–7, 2026 inclusive (previously announced as July 1–6)

We know that teachers, dancers and families will be keen to begin planning their trips to Orlando. For your information, we anticipate the syllabus will be available on February 15 and hotel booking links will open in March. We will also very shortly be launching the full 2026 event specific website, and social media accounts are now live so that everyone has timely and reliable access to information.
