Spring has brought us some very special visitors again this year! 🐣💛

For the second year in a row, our mama duck has returned to our preschool playground to lay her eggs—once again arriving just in time for Mother’s Day. It’s hard not to feel honored that she chooses our space to care for her babies. We like to think it’s because she knows this is a place full of love, nurturing, and safety—just what every mom wants for her little ones.

And she’s not the only one! Our mourning doves also made their annual return to their nest right here on our playground. Their babies have already hatched and spread their wings, a beautiful reminder of how quickly little ones grow when they feel safe and supported.

Moments like these reflect what we strive to create every day—a warm, caring environment where children can grow, explore, and thrive.

🍿 POPPIN’ POPCORN FUNDRAISER
Every child has the opportunity to register and sell popcorn in a variety of delicious flavors! 50% of the profits come directly back to our center to help fund:
• Our upcoming Bunny Trail event
• Hands-on summer learning experiences
• Special holiday celebrations throughout the year

🏀 MARCH MADNESS PENNY WARS
This is our in-house fundraiser where 100% of the profits stay right here!
• Week 1: Classrooms have been racking up points to get a strong start.
• Week 2 (Sabotage Begins!): The three classrooms with the most points will get to start knocking points off other classrooms!
How it works:
✅ Pennies & $1 Bills = Positive points (help your class!)
⚠️ Silver Coins (dimes, nickels, quarters) = Negative points (strategic sabotage!)
No classroom will ever go below zero points—we keep it fun and friendly!

Why do we do this?
As a part of Westbay community action —a nonprofit organization—we know just how important fundraising is. Every dollar raised helps us:
• Maintain lower tuition rates for families
• Provide hands-on, engaging learning experiences for every child in our care
• Keep special events like our Bunny Trail and summer enrichment programs going strong

This means we can continue offering high-quality care and fun without constantly asking parents for more. When you support our fundraisers, you’re supporting all the children in our community.

Oh, the Places You'll Go... when you learn through play! 📚🎩
What a WILD and WONDERFUL week we’ve had at Westbay Children’s Center celebrating Dr. Seuss! From "Cat in the Hat" hats on Monday to head-to-toe green for "Green Eggs and Ham" on Friday, our little learners brought the magic of Dr. Seuss to life!
But the fun didn't stop at the costumes! We invited these classic stories into our classrooms for a week of hands-on learning. Whether we were sorting colors with "One Fish, Two Fish" (math!), creating wacky art projects (Wacky Wednesday! 🎨), or snuggling up with stuffed animals for "Put Me in the Zoo" on National Wildlife Day (literacy & science!), every day was an adventure in imagination.
