We are a nonprofit organization promoting and sharing the world’s greatest hobby-model railroading.

The Providence Northern is an educational center dedicated to model train
building and design. Model Railroading is a multi-faceted hobby incorporating
disciplines such as engineering, architecture, woodworking, electronics, and
information technology.

A hot summer day in August of 1972 finds a trio of PC diesels rolling through Vermont on their way to Springfield and then on to New Haven.

Trackside on a warm summer day we find this Boston and Maine freight slowly moving southbound. A pair of GP18s are in charge of the train with a special painted lead unit celebrating America’s bicentennial. Although the B&M never had a GP18 number 1776, one of our club members custom made this “what if” unit.
