🌊 Water Safety Matters 🌊

Did you know? Nearly 1,000 children die from drowning each year in the U.S., and more than 6,500 children are treated in emergency rooms for nonfatal drowning incidents. Most drownings happen between May and August, and many occur in open water such as lakes, rivers, ponds, and oceans—not swimming pools.

As families enjoy the summer, remember:
✅ Always supervise children around water
✅ Wear life jackets when appropriate
✅ Learn basic water safety skills
✅ Never underestimate the dangers of open water
