Big news for Bishop Hendricken Arts 🎭

“The Art of Stage Combat,” inspired by our 2024 production of Treasure Island, has been nominated for a 2025 New England Emmy Award by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Boston/New England.

The feature highlighted the work behind bringing stage combat and theatrical storytelling to life as our students prepared for Treasure Island alongside fight choreographer Michael Liebhauser.

We are incredibly proud of everyone involved in this outstanding achievement. Read the full press release: https://hendricken.com/news/emmynomination/

Last night was the perfect end to an incredibly successful year in our Drama program! In recognition of being named one of the Best Musicals in RI and Southern MA, several of our students made their PPAC debuts, performing a medley from THE LIGHTNING THIEF at the Ocean State Star Awards. We are so proud of everything they have accomplished! This honor is also shared with our incredible tech crew and creative team who were integral to the success of our production. Congratulations to all- we can’t wait until next year! 🎭

This weekend our Performing Arts & Technical Theatre Academies traveled to Rutland, VT to perform their original play BIKE TO THE FUTURE at the New England Drama Festival. In addition to giving a standout performance, they watched incredible plays from schools across the region, participated in workshops with professional teaching artists, and engaged in student forums. We are so proud to provide opportunities for our student artists to expand their minds, challenge themselves, and connect with the greater creative community. 🎭
