We have the plans underway for the Warsaw, Illinois event of our 107th Alumni Banquet on May 24, 2025 at the High School Gym. Please share this with friends and family who graduated from Warsaw High School! Let your older neighbors who are not using electronic mail and social media know about this too! We have planned the banquet, and need to get the word out for reservations. Save the date, May 24, 2025 and join the Warsaw High School Alumni Association for their annual banquet at the high school gym at 6:00 PM. Call or text Deb at (217) 617-7711.

Our 105th alumni banquet has come to an end, and we had a wonderful turnout of 44 reservations which included several newcomers this year! If we put the last two years of banquets together, we'd have about 70 in attendance. This is why we just keep meeting on the Saturday night of Memorial Day weekend. There may be some who simply always have a conflict, but so many different faces from year to year, it seems to work. That is the plan for 2024. Please plan to attend next year! It will be Saturday, May 25, 2024! The class years ending in 4 and 9 will have special anniversary years, and we already are planning to focus on the class of 1959 to gather that evening. This year, we had some last minute substitutions for those who planned and couldn't be with us, with those who didn't commit who were able to join us. We had delicious food & desserts, wonderful visiting, singing, saying the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, as was recited every day in our historical and amazing one-room schools, and there is a school sound system that is so much better than in previous years! We also enjoyed a surprise visit from Texas, of one who graduated only 5 years ago, and who was our DJ with a turntable, spinning some 50's and 60's records on 45. (We used his sound system this year, but know we will be able to use that new school system and hear well.) We did a little line dancing, told stories about the Rockford and Tioga schools of days gone by, and gave away another Hancock County Historical Society book "Rural One Room Schools of Hancock County, Illinois 1830s to 1960s."

We will gather Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 6:00 PM for our 2023 WHS Alumni Banquet. The meal will be served at 6:30, and is being catered by Keokuk Hy-Vee, a buffet of fried chicken, roast beef, au gratin potatoes, green beans, garden salad, and cake, with beverages, including lemonade, water, decaf and regular coffee. The cost is $18. We are planning to continue our theme to recognize our early years of one-room, and small schools all over the district. If you have pictures, or want to type up memories, we will read them to the group.

Everyone please plan to join us in the Warsaw High School Gymnasium! We will see you Memorial Day Weekend 2023! RSVP by Tuesday, May 23 with Deb Roskamp at (217) 617-7711, call or text. We also receive mail at PO Box 81, Warsaw, IL 62379. We no longer collect dues for mass mailings, but any donations, such as rounding up to $20, would be welcomed as we provide beverages, table coverings, pay an annual post office box rental, and tip our caterers. We look forward to seeing and visiting with each of you again!

Put May 27, 2023, 6:00 PM on your calendars!!! We are happy to announce that there will be a 2023 WHS Alumni Banquet. We are planning to continue our theme to recognize our early years of one-room, and small schools all over the district. If you have pictures, or want to type up memories, we will read them to the group. We will have a door prize again, the book from the Hancock County Historical Society about our county schools.

The clock has run down and game over on the 104th annual alumni banquet! We had a good evening visiting, eating, and telling where we went to elementary school. As intentionally as I walked into the room with my phone in hand to take a few pictures, I got side-tracked and forgot. No pictures are available to post, so picture six round tables with red table clothes, 4 8' tables, 2 with white, 2 with red tablecloths along the west end of the court all in the 2 point regions, and two 6' tables with buffet set up in the 3 second lane, and out of bounds, a cake and punch, drink table, with mixed nuts and cashews. We had a festive evening, and look forward to more communications, as much electronic as possible in the coming years! Oh, and bring along a sweater, because the A/C was working, and the only one glad it was so cold was me! We raffled off a book published a couple of years ago by the Hancock County Historical Society! We hope to have more stories and another book to raffle off next year! Plan on May 27, 2023, same 6:00 time, same WHS Gymnasium!

I have a vaccinated & boosted friend in Northern Illinois who is suffering from COVID19. That is my reminder of why our committee has planned our WHS Alumni Banquet as we did this year. We knew it was time after two years off, to plan to have it again, but it is sized down. We didn't do a mass mailing, something we plan not to do anymore anyway, and we connected with just the right people and numbers to end up with our goal of 48 attending. We set everything up this afternoon, with ten tables, nicely social distanced, and a simple and delicious meal planned for tomorrow evening. We are very excited that we get to have it again, and that the high school is letting us gather there, as we always have. We have everything planned so that we can safely eat together, visit, and reminisce. This year is a stepping stone back to larger gatherings, and we hope the precautions we have in place keep us all healthy and well.
