Meditation 🧘🏻♀️
Our physical practice is only one part of the eightfold path. The physical asanas prepare our bodies to sit comfortably in meditation - another extremely important practice of yoga.
If there are days where you can't move your body physically, don't worry! Sit and breathe with intention, allow your mind to focus on the inhale/exhale while you close your eyes. Sit nice and tall. Smile. Choose any mudra (hand gesture) that resonates.
Meditation IS yoga.

Happy Full Moon in Sagittarius 🏹
May 31 brings us our second full moon in a month, something very special! This only happens about every 2.5 years - the next one comes in 2028.
Also known as the blue moon this full moon comes in Sagittarius - the sign of the archer.
This moon challenges our beliefs - are you really living a life in tune with your truth? Are you doing what you think you should be or are you living in alignment with your soul's true path? Tension may arise for you if you are NOT being true to yourself. Perhaps difficult conversations or truths have come into your realm of awareness these past days. Don't fight them, listen to what they are telling you. Notice the signs, subtle and blatant, all around you. Listen. Don't judge. This isn't a time for major change - this is a time to acknowledge the change your inner knowing brings to light.

Lizard lunge 🦎
Utthan Pristhasana, also known as lizard lunge helps build strength in the thighs and requires a certain amount of flexibility for the variation pictured.
Lizard lunge can also be done with the back knee down until you feel strong enough to keep the knee lifted.
To do lizard lunge you can begin from high lunge and bring your hands to the floor directly underneath your shoulders. Bring your foot to the outside edge of the mat with your knee still facing forward for a more dynamic variation. If you can't get your hands to the floor without rounding your spine place blocks underneath your hands to keep the spine flat.
Hold for 3-5 breaths

Mountain Pose 🏔️
Mountain Pose is a standing pose that connects the body strongly to earth. Like a mountain we stand strong and firmly rooted; unmoving.
Your head is over your heart and your heart is over your hips; chin parallel to the floor. Option to do hands at heart center, Anjali mudra.
When preparing for Surya Namaskar A or B, we stand with our feet completely together or very slightly apart (if your feet prefer that; both options are pictured here).
Eyes closed to connect within or eyes open for balance & focus.
Mountain Pose is a great resting pose for standing sequences when you need to reconnect with your breath.

This Saturday, May 9th, is our special Mother's Day class!
Bring your mom along and she only pays $10! Standard rates still apply to all our other friends.
Note: There is a 5K event beginning from the park at 9am as well. Registration for the 5k begins at 8am. This may impede traffic into the parking lot around Warsaw Town Park and Dog Park. Please arrive a bit early to make sure you find us!
